Summer 2010...In A Nutshell!

Believe it or not, I am finally updating the blog. I know, I get the "Bad Mother" award for being so far behind on the our blog. With the pregnancy, football, and an extremely active 1 1/2 year old, I fell very far behind. However, now you will get a whole plethora of pictures to enjoy! So, enjoy our summer of 2010...in a nutshell!
My dad and Kathy gave us Aunt Sam's old desk to play with and Maddux loves coloring or "surfing the web" at his new desk!

Still not really wanting to ride in the fire truck, but enjoys pushing dad's shoes around!

Great Grandma Carole came all the way from Oregon to visit for Mother's Day! We enjoyed a fabulous lunch at Kona Grill...a sushi restaurant!

Grandma Becci and Great Grandma Carole

Just enjoying the innocence of a child!

"Pretty sure I could give the Olson twins a run for their money!"

Daddy being cheesy!

The fam getting ready to head out to a graduation party!

This summer Maddux has really become entertained with bottle caps...he enjoys screwing them on and off! The simple things that entertain!

Sporting the new cutoff!

Ready to go to the zoo for Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!

"I'm gonna get you!"
Can a mouth get much bigger?

Enjoying his new sitting spot!

"Mom making me look like a nerd, but a pretty cute one!"

Wishing he could join Gus to play...unfortunately Maddux gets a little aggressive with him sometimes!

Doing what he knows he's not supposed too....

Playing at the park!

"Why does mom do this to me?"

I don't think is quite how you're supposed to play with toy...but it works for Maddux!

Loving on my puppy!
Enjoying a PB&J...one of my favs!
As you can see, we had a great summer! We enjoyed the warm weather, but are happy to see that fall has arrived! Maddux is rapidly growing and it's amazing to watch his personality and vocabulary expand every single day! It's hard to believe that he's already a year and a half...time sure does fly when you're having fun!

Baby Kbar "Two"

Little Kbar #2 is looking perfect already! We had our first ultrasound today and the baby looks fantastic! Two arms, two legs, a steady, strong heart beat, and the brain development looks perfect thus far. Our due date is March 8. The baby moved nonstop the entire time...not sure what that means for the future. I have a feeling it could mean that we'll have two "very active" boys on our hands! Either way, we are ecstatic and it's amazing how seeing pictures of this little miracle can make it all seem so real and oh so worth it! We can't wait to welcome our baby into the family....this little one is loved so much already!

Gus Gus

As most of you know, we had to put our dog, Gunny, down a month before Maddux was born. We quickly realized that our house just wasn't complete without a four legged creature running around, so we knew that we would be getting another dog, we just didn't know when. We also knew that we wanted our kids to grow up with a dog, so we decided to get Maddux a puppy for his first birthday. Gus Kettlebar, aka Gus Gus, was born Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in North Carolina. He had 13 litter mates...so he came from a very large litter. He also came from extremely large parents, so we have no doubt that he could get to 200 lbs! Matt and his dad drove down to North Carolina and brought him home June 3. He is now 3 months old, and as you can see in the pictures, growing very quickly. He weighed 26 lbs when we brought him home and is now 46....that's right 20 lbs in a month! He has a lot of traits and behaviors that remind us of Gunny...and they look quite a bit alike as well! Maddux and Gus are getting along for the most part. Gus always does really well with Maddux...but sometimes Maddux gets a little aggressive so they are never left alone. However, Gus has learned really quickly, as you will see in a picture below, that if he camps out by Maddux's high chair, he will certainly get a "treat" from his big brother! He is 100% puppy, so he isn't quite ready for all of the snuggling that I'd like, but I know that will come...one thing is for sure about Mastiffs...they are definitely snugglers...that's why we love them! We are thrilled to have a dog back in our home and are very excited to watch him and our children grow together!

SURPRISE!

Well, it looks like the Kettlebar family will be doing "more" laundry next spring! We couldn't be happier, and even though Maddux doesn't quite understand the concept, we know he's going to make a fantastic big brother! The baby should be due in the beginning of March....so we'll have two March babies now!
